Namix for Microsoft Word
Namix is an add-in for Microsoft Word published by COTRA LLC. It consistently saves a named copy of the document you have open to your own OneDrive. This section explains how Namix handles your information.
What Namix accesses
- Your open document. When you choose to save a copy, Namix reads the document and its properties (such as the title) to build the file name and create the copy.
- Your Microsoft account. You sign in through Microsoft. Namix never sees or stores your password. With your consent, Microsoft allows Namix to read your basic profile (name and email address) and to create files in your OneDrive.
- Your file naming preferences. These are the first name, middle initial, last name and field order that you enter in Namix.
Where your information goes
- The copy of your document goes directly from Word to your own OneDrive through Microsoft’s services. It is not sent to COTRA LLC and is not stored on COTRA LLC’s servers.
- Your file naming preferences and your sign-in session are stored only on your device, in the storage of your browser or of Word. You can delete them by clearing the site data for namix.cotrallc.com.
- COTRA LLC does not collect, sell or share the content of your documents, your Microsoft account information or your file naming preferences. Namix contains neither advertising, nor analytics and nor tracking tools.
- The Namix application files are served from namix.cotrallc.com. Like any web host, our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, date and time of the request) for security and operation.
Microsoft’s handling of your account, your documents and your OneDrive is governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Changes
We will update this section when Namix adds features that change how information is handled, such as subscriptions or customer accounts.
